Datesman VillageThe complex is owned and managed by the Union County Housing Authority since 1983. There are 30 rental units in the complex, each consisting of a spacious living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and plenty of storage space. The living room and bedrooms are fully carpeted. The units, which are subsidized through Rural Housing Service, offer affordable rents to elderly and disabled individuals. Kelly ApartmentsEach apartment is made up of a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen. There are several closets providing ample storage space. The rent is based on 30% of a family’s total income and includes water, sewer, and trash. Each tenant receives a utility allowance to cover the average monthly utility bill. The amount of the utility allowance is set by Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency using a utility usage analysis provided by PPL. The tenants are responsible for their electric bill, cable and telephone. Kelly Apartments is owned by Kelly Associates, LP, who have contracted with the Housing Authority of Union County to act as owner/agent/designated representative. Meadow View Apartments The garden style apartments for the elderly and disabled are situated in two separate buildings, each containing 15 apartments. Each building has its own small community room and laundry facilities. Nearby are shopping facilities, restaurants, medical facilities, and banking institutions. Transportation is available to elderly individuals through the Union Snyder Transportation Alliance at a minimal cost. The Housing Authority of Union County is the owner and management agent for the complex. Rural Development/Rural Housing Service and the Department of Housing and Urban Development provide funding.
Meadow View Apartments provides elderly and disabled individuals with affordable, secure, and maintenance free housing. Each unit consists of a galley kitchen, fully carpeted living room and bedroom, bathroom, and ample closet space. All utilities (including cable), except telephone, are included in the rent, which is based on 30% of adjusted gross income. Mifflin Place Mifflin Place is a 24-unit two-story apartment building in Mifflinburg. UCHA is the service agent for the owners, Mifflin Place Associates. In that capacity, Union County provides a part-time manager and an on site part-time office assistant. In addition, limited routine maintenance and janitorial personnel are also available. Newky ApartmentsNewky Apartments complex consists of two buildings, with four units each. It is conveniently located in New Columbia. Each apartment has a living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, bathroom and plenty of storage space. There is also a large courtyard area between both buildings for warm weather use by the tenants. White Deer CommonsWhite Deer Commons remains the sole family-based project managed by the Union County Housing Authority. It is owned by White Deer Commons Associates and consists of 24 two- and three-bedroom units, each heated and cooled by a geo-thermal heat pump.
