Retrofit Existing Homes

 Retrofit Projects

The Union County Housing Authority acquired two existing homes within Union County. These existing structures will be evaluated for energy efficiency. Energy efficient improvements will be undertaken by local contractors to earn a HERS Index score of 80 or better and a NAHB Green Home rating of “Silver.” The homes will be sold to income eligible, “prime time” homebuyers. Like the duplex house, emphasis is on energy efficiency and energy cost savings as a first priority.  A second priority will be “green development;” and a third priority will be rehabilitation and retro-fit costs.
